VISION

Mission Academy will be an Independent, Catholic Montessori School serving students in grades preK- 12 by providing a top level education, small class sizes and a strong faith foundation. Dr. Maria Montessori was Catholic, and the Montessori method is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations from birth to adulthood. It is an approach that values the human spirit and the whole child from their physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. The faith of Mission Academy students will be guided and nurtured by the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The founders were inspired to combine their Catholic faith and their Montessori teaching experience to create this beautiful program. It encourages quiet contemplative time; tactile, meaningful materials; and a deep relationship with Christ.

Mission Academy will tailor to individual goals, learning styles, personalities and the unique gifts of each student. Christ and the Gospel will be at the forefront of everything we do. At Mission Academy, there will be a sense of community with one ultimate goal: to get one another to Heaven. With this clear goal, we create an environment of mutual respect for the dignity of staff, students and faculty alike. In addition, every student who graduates from Mission Academy will have experienced a great education, a strong Catholic faith and a deep, abiding sense of their mission and identity in Christ.

Mission Academy has been reviewed and approved by the Diocese of Columbus.

Mission Academy will be sited on a large property with easy access to New Albany, Westerville, Sunbury, and Johnstown. A community farming program will provide a unique learning environment that includes a working farm that will provide food for staff, students and local shelters and food pantries. This environment will enable students to learn about science, and basic food preparation skills, while instilling a spirit of charity in our students.
It will be a safe community where students and staff alike will feel cared for, encouraged and challenged to be, as Matthew Kelly says, “the best versions of themselves.” We thank you in advance for your support and would greatly appreciate your prayers.
